The Pittsburgh Mandolin Society and Mandolin Orchestra are open for all musicians and music lovers alike. The orchestra is open to all musicians that can read music and are interested in playing any of the instruments in the mandolin family, as well as the acoustic guitar, bass, woodwind and rhythm instruments. We strive to make the orchestra accessible and open for all interested and are committed to teaching and the development of new talent.
The orchestra has approximately 30 active members with a wide range of musical experience and knowledge. The diverse musical interests and experience have led to the spawning of small ensembles and performance groups dedicated to specific styles including classical, bluegrass, Irish and jazz music.
If you are interested in joining us, we encourage you to come participate in our weekly rehearsals on Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:30 pm at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1965 Ferguson Rd, Allison Park, PA 15101 (map). If possible, please use the form on the right to tell us the date(s) you wish to attend and the instrument(s) you are interested in playing. We will arrange to have copies of the music available for you at rehearsal.
